Description

Isomalt (E953) is a food-grade sugar alcohol (polyol) produced from sucrose through enzymatic conversion and hydrogenation. It is widely used as a bulk sweetener in sugar-free and reduced-sugar foods due to its clean, mild sweetness, excellent stability, low hygroscopicity, and good processing performance. Isomalt provides approximately half the calories of sucrose and is tooth-friendly, making it a suitable ingredient for confectionery, bakery products, beverages, dietary supplements, and pharmaceutical formulations.

Application:
1) Used as a bulk sweetener in sugar-free hard candies, lollipops, lozenges, and mints.
2) Applied in chewing gum and confectionery to provide sweetness while reducing sugar content.
3) Used in chocolate, coatings, biscuits, cakes, and other bakery products.
4) Incorporated into dietary supplements and functional foods as a low-calorie bulking agent.
5) Used in tabletop sweeteners and sugar replacement blends.
6) Applied as an excipient in pharmaceutical tablets, chewable tablets, and lozenges.
7) Suitable for decorative sugar work, confectionery decorations, and molded candy due to its excellent thermal stability and low hygroscopicity.
8) Used in nutritional and specialty food formulations requiring sugar reduction while maintaining product texture and stability.
